By currently playing more than a hundred concerts a year around the world\, Surfer Joe is among the most active artists in modern surf music. Their instrumental music interweaves traditional Scandinavian & US American folk sounds with modern electro-acoustic elements\, while their singing tunes touch on topics of radical joy through community\, personal and collective mental health\, neurodivergence\, and queerness.  \n—\nLady Xok a.k.a. Rebekah Crisanta de Ybarra (Maya-Lenca Nation) is an interdisciplinary artist of Indigenous Futurisms. Her experimental storytelling-style of visual and sound installation is a fusion of synth-led\, folk guitar\, pre-Columbian Indigenous instruments\, Latin American rhythm & blues\, and the cathedral of nature.\n—\nThree powerhouse Minnesotan fiddlers — Rachel Calvert\, Jackie Rae Daniels\, and Maura Dunst — join forces to create Triple Fiddle: a collaboration of sensational triple fiddle harmonies and lusciously layered vocals. Backed by guitarist and singer-songwriter Hannah Hendrickson\, this fiddle-forward trio presents soaring arrangements of originals and covers from honky tonk\, swing\, folk\, and roots music traditions.\n\n\n—\nBOX-OFFICE Tickets Are Available in The Zen Arcade During Hours of Operation. Get tickets NOW!\n\n\n——————-\n\n\nNiis—pronounced “Nice”—synthesizes the sounds of punk\, hardcore\, lo-fi garage\, and early grunge to craft a raw\, undefinable noise all their own. Hailing from Los Angeles\, this four-piece channels the spirit of rebellion through blistering riffs and Mimi’s visceral screams\, delivering biting commentary on capitalism\, misogyny\, and the constructs that seek to confine us. With influences like Rudimentary Peni\, Crass\, and Hole\, Niis fuses rage and reflection into songs that confront and provoke\, like “Fuck You Boy\,” an unflinching anthem about navigating a male-dominated music scene\, or the searing “Tyrant\,” which demands liberation from oppressive systems.\n\n\n \n\n\nOn March 28\, Niis will release their highly anticipated new album\, Niis World\, via Get Better Records. The album embodies their ethos of defiance and empowerment\, with tracks like “Low Life” exploring themes of betrayal and resilience\, and “Spite” rejecting societal archetypes with lines like\, “No longer will I exist in spite of you.” The band’s relentless energy and sharp lyricism shine through\, cementing their place as one of punk’s most vital voices.\n\n\n \n\n\nSince their 2020 debut EP Not Niis and their 2022 follow-up Must Be…\, Niis has shared stages with acts like Devo\, Scowl\, Gel\, Bleached\, Sheer Mag\, and Ceremony\, and performed at festivals like SXSW and Punk in the Park alongside legends such as Pennywise and Circle Jerks. Yet no matter how far they push their sound\, Niis remains deeply rooted in punk’s core ethos of community and connection. \n\n\n \n\n\nWith Niis World\, the band is set to remind us that true punk is about breaking chains\, speaking truth\, and\, above all\, being “nice like Niis.”\n\n\n—\n\n\nPollyanna\, a four piece New Jersey band consisting of power-pop\, loud rock\, bubble grunge and punk influences consists of lead singer and guitarist Jill Beckett\, drummer Daniel McCool\, bassist Brandon Bolton\, and guitarist Jack Rose. Their name directly derives from the dictionary definition\, “to be unreasonably or illogically optimistic” – perfectly describing front-person Jill Becket’s ‘stuck in 2017’ incredibly optimistic attitude. After meeting in the first grade\, Dan and Jill started the band at just 13 years old\, eager to create and play music that would reach audiences beyond the confines of Jill’s open garage doors. Brandon made them a trio in early 2019\, bringing 90’s femme punk influence to the group. At the start of 2021\, Jack completed the bands’ lineup\, adding his elemental stabby guitars and love for shoegaze and metal into the mix. After completing almost 5 tours around the east coast and the midwest\, Pollyanna has won over a following in the New Jersey music scene along with cities in the tri-state and beyond. They plan on growing as far as possible and leaving a unique mark in the music industry.\n\n\nSpotify | Instagram | Twitter\n\n\n \n\n\nSurly Grrly is a MPLS-based queercore protest band that likes to have fun while loudly fucking the patriarchy. Their live shows are filled with rage\, passion\, and politically-driven lyrics addressing bigotry\, queerness\, and misogyny. With a satisfyingly raw 80’s garage punk sound\, Surly Grrly uses catchy hooks and tempo changes to rile up a crowd\, mixing originals with a variety of bombastic covers.

TWAIN has etched out a unique lane in hip-hop & the true indie music space throughout his time as a recording artist & performer\, all after once dreaming of being in music as an adolescent. Relocating to MN a year after finally becoming a bonafide musician\, he hit the ground running in and outside of Minneapolis and Saint Paul releasing underground albums and mixtapes in the 2000s\, also doing these releases online during that time as an digital early adopter-before the advent of iTunes and the streaming era (and social media). This made for a near seamless transition into officially releasing music commercially\, his first of that type of offering being his classic 2009 album Truth or Consequences. A gripping\, personal tome with a more musical soundbed\, that album became his magnum opus. In more recent years he’s released a couple of love letter projects to his region\, the ambitious CENTRAL STANDARD TIME album in early 2020\, which includes the powerful single “Changes” (feat. Jay Jeminii)\, which was considered for the Recording Academy’s first ever GRAMMY®️BEST SONG FOR SOCIAL CHANGE songwriters honor. And the critically and culturally acclaimed Midwest Mayor special music project in late 2021\, which was produced entirely by his Southwest PA music partner LUKE-O.  A memorable live performer\, some venues and performances the 2x Hollywood Independent Music Award and Twin Cities Hip-Hop Award Nominee has had the pleasure of performing at are Penn State University\, Peavey Plaza\, the Fine Line Music Café\, the Big Turn and FOR THE LOVE music festivals\, and the Midwest Basketball League’s Halftime Show. Some of the popular songs in his catalog include the smashes “Polo Suit” and “Joliet” (feat. Cariah Brinaé\, the aforementioned “Changes” (feat. Jay Jeminii)\, the hard-hitting “Perspective”\, and “Nu & U” (feat. Jay Jeminii). As a music executive he’s successfully mentored and produced a few acts. He’s also launched a number of live music properties\, such as the concert series “A Night Over South” in South Minneapolis\, which collects food donations for host venue Fallout Urban Art Center’s food shelf\, and R&B concert series “TWIN CITIES MUSIC LOUNGE”\, plus many more. He formed ILL COUNTY Management in 2018\, and has proudly represented & managed women exclusively thus far\, helping empower & support their dreams\, and building their music businesses with them. He’s received press in online outlets and music blogs such as Star Tribune’s CityPages\, The Current\, UNDERGROUNDHIPHOPBLOG DOT COM\, Music In Minnesota\, and CanvasRebel Magazine\, to name a few. He was selected a Homegrown Featured Artist by Minneapolis’ B96 96.3 FM. And his music has been recognized and received airplay from and on Brandon “B.Dot” Miller from Rap Radar Podcast\, SiriusXM’s SHADE45\, Dash Radio\, Go 95.3 FM\, The Current 89.3\, and has surpassed over 10K purely organic streams on Audiomack\, selected by their music editors to trend twice on the music platform. \n \nChozen\nChozen is a dynamic hip-hop artist from the south side of Minneapolis. Inspired by his past life experiences\, current situations\, and his dream and goals\, his music juggles having fun with being motivational\, all with a sound he calls “sophisticated trap”. He lets the music get him into a specific mode when isolating himself for a few minutes\, this allows his creative process to flow and make his art. His belief is there’s no wrong way to tell his story and display his emotions. With his hope being that he can engage listeners with his relatability while being himself\, and create stunning visuals making his visions come to life. \n \nDon Wonne\nIn his years as a musician\, dynamic artist Don Wonne has made an impact on the game. Originally hailing from Detroit\, he’s now based in Twin Cities\, MN\, bringing a balanced mix of hip-hop music depicting street life\, yet including upbeat records that feel good and are fun\, showing his full talent & versatility. Inspired by his family\, he brings a star-quality and unmistakable presence to his artistry. He’s also a masterful drummer\, with a music background in the church and playing live\, so his full knowledge of musicianship is included in his work. In addition being a solo artist with the catalog he’s building\, he spends time in a remarkable hip-hop duo with his sister Jay Da K1DD\, with all of the music and visual content having its high points and indie success. \n \nFreeGod Sa’Vii\n“FreeGod Sa’Vii descended from the Heavens to once again deliver great music unto the world. Rejoice for ye are welcome.” FreeGod Sa’Vii was born in Monroe\, Louisiana and moved to St.Paul\, Minnesota in 2004 where he began dabbling with rapping. His southern drawl\, combined with his city influence\, gave him a hybrid sound. He quickly discovered he had many music quirks and would go on to record his first ever song in hugely successful music producer Jeremy “TryBishop” Hicks’ studio. After having his daughter in 2011\, Sa’Vii vowed to take his music career serious and wouldn’t stop until he was on! He created a label called Carbonado Cartel with his colleague DJ Still Phre$h\, and they opened up their own recording studio\, Carbonado Studios. Now fresh out the feds he’s currently curating a new sound as he submerges himself in the studio\, collaborating with new producers\, complete with engineering the project himself. Stay tuned! \n \nThee Alanna Lynn\nSt. Paul\, MN’s Thee Alanna Lynn is a versatile emerging Neo-Soul singer/songwriter on the music scene. She always was a singer and writer growing up\, but didn’t think to fuse the two until much later in her life\, the year 2014 to be exact. Once she finally heard her vocals on a track\, she decided to keep going with her music. Exposed to different styles\, ranging from Cumbia to Hip-Hop\, Neo-Soul to Jazz\, and all way the way back to Pop and Light Rock\, she recalls watching artist interviews being in awe at their self-expression. The irony is not lost on her as she’s naturally evolved to become a creator herself\, always knowing that it would eventually happen for her too. \n \nNi’Cold\nKenisha Ni’Cold a passionate Black entrepreneur and the founder of Consistent Cosmetics™️. With a mission to empower individuals through beauty\, she has created a brand that celebrates diversity and self-expression by offering high-quality cosmetics designed for all skin tones. SUMMARY:TELEPORT 004 - An Evening of Psychedelic Chillout Music: Ancient Fruit\, Squig\, Kitten Candy
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nThe Zen Arcade Stageat The Hook and Ladder’s Mission Room \n\nDoors 8:30pm :: Music 9pm :: 21+\n$10 Box-Office /  $12.16 Online / $15 Door\n\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n EVENT DESCRIPTION \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nTELEPORT 004 – An Evening of Psychedelic Chillout Music: Ancient Fruit\, Squig\, Kitten Candy\n— \nThis installment of Teleport differs from the previous ones in a few ways. For one\, Teleport 004 will feature ambient and downtempo music. I have long thought that a showcase of psybient and psy chillout music would be very worthwhile. There is so much variety within this heading and so much good music that only people in psytrance world seem to know about. The music programming has departed slightly from this initial picture\, all in good ways. The entire evening will feature live performance. The artists—Kitten Candy\, Squig\, and Ancient Fruit—are all dedicated\, multitalented\, experimental artists who will bring a variety and progression that is ideal for this emerging concept. \nThe event will be in Zen Arcade at the Hook and Ladder Theater\, which is also new for Teleport. The arrangement and deco plan are being worked out (as I am still pretty unfamiliar with that space)\, as is the visual programming by Kid Cuisine (who created the beautifully tailored flyer image for this unique installment). The aim is to make the Zen Arcade feel like a chill space at a music festival—relaxing\, cozy\, and wildly engaging. \n— \nBOX-OFFICE Tickets Are Available in The Zen Arcade During Hours of Operation. Local indie pop band KYM and the Kick invites you to celebrate the release of their energetic freshman album “The Gift of Feeling.”  This ten-track album is the band’s ode to feeling deeply in a culture that suppresses our feelings at every opportunity. Supported by Alonzo and Poison Ivy and the People\, this night is for lovers of queer pop and art as resistance! \n \nKYM and the Kick is a cheeky\, queer indie pop band from the Twin Cities\, MN. After releasing their EP ‘Not 4 U’ in 2020 under the band’s solo name\, KYM and the Kick step into their new era with equally danceable indie pop tracks. KYM’s dreamy vocals and layered harmonies are well-complemented by their band’s funky bass lines\, dynamic drum fills\, and 80s synth pop melodies. \n \nAlonzo is 3 friends who like to have fun. Their sounds range from bossa nova\, easy listening to disco to incidental television music. They enjoy being the wallpaper for any good-time event. From a beginner to an advanced listener\, Alonzo has something for everyone.\n \nPoison Ivy And The People is a five piece theatrical rock band based in Minneapolis\, MN\, and fronted by Ivy (aka Charleigh Wolf). Themes of mental illness\, profound existentialism\, big questions about the world\, and social change give listeners an inside view into Ivy’s abstract inner monologue. Ivy’s extensive background in theatre lends itself to highly dramatic performances that captivate audiences and leave them thoroughly entertained.
