I’m Dixieland Delighted to announce a side project with my band we’ve been working on. An Alabama Tribute called “Songs Of The South”. We’ve had an Alabama medley in our set for quite some time that we love to perform and audiences enjoy. I’ve always admired Alabama’s timeless down home songs and sweet harmonies and thought it would be great to put together an entire set of their music. It feels right at home when we sing one of their many hits and fits right in our wheelhouse with all the vocal harmonies. Adding to the band\, I’ve recruited a top notch fiddle/utility musician to get the full Songs Of The South sound.\nBe on the lookout for this Alabama tribute show taking the stage across Minnesota and the Midwest and come on out and sing along to some Mountain Music and all the songs you know and love.

Rex\, and Jack White\, with a familiar rock sound that is somehow all his own while being heavily inspired by spiritual and Zen themes. The Little Man live rock show is not to be missed.  Exuding with passion and a rock-star quality that pulls you into a performance with a classic rock\, psychedelic and garage rock feel that is uniquely their own.

Sam Cassidy opens.\n \nLittle Fevers is an indie-pop group from Minneapolis made up of the remaining members of the folk pop orchestra Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles who in 2014\, traded their acoustic instruments for electric guitars and synthesizers. Reflecting their new sound\, they adopted a new name\, Little Fevers and released their debut record Field Trip\, which blended their electric indie sound with new wave influences. Field Trip was followed by their 7 inch Singles released in 2017 featuring Chris Koza (Rogue Valley) on  guitar.  Two years later\, Little Fevers enlisted guitarist Paul Puleo (Knife World and Southside Desire) and completed work on their second full length record Strangers. \n“This Minneapolis quartet could slot neatly in amongst a Mates of State record\, a Pavement full-length and Vampire Weekend’s first album.” – Noisey \n\n \nMinneapolis roots-rock songwriter Sam Cassidy is known for his spirited live shows that showcase his stirring vocals and deft guitar work. Named Best Acoustic Performer by City Pages in 2017\, Cassidy composes hard-luck ballads with a distinct Midwestern twang. He draws on the life of ordinary people as well as his own experiences to paint vivid pictures of struggle and joy\, hard work\, and taking it easy. Pulling on influences from classics like Springsteen and Petty\, as well as contemporaries like Laura Marling and Waxahatchee\, his songs explore the grey area between right and wrong and try to examine what brings people to do the things they do.  Backed by the most handsome band in Minneapolis- The All Night Canyons\, the live show is not to be missed.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n

For more than 40 years\, the Southern Rock legends have celebrated triumphs and endured tragedies to remain one of the most influential and best-loved bands of the genre. Today\, The Outlaws have returned with new music\, new focus and an uncompromising new mission: It’s about a band of brothers bound together by history\, harmony and the road. It’s about a group that respects its own legacy while refusing to be defined by its past. But most of all\, it’s about pride. https://www.outlawsmusic.com\n \nIn an age where new bands come and go\, FIREFALL has enjoyed a career that spans more than forty years and shows no sign of slowing down. FIREFALL’s commercial success includes three Gold albums\, two Platinum albums and eleven chart-topping singles. The band’s biggest hit\, “You Are the Woman” has been played on commercial radio more than 7\,000\,000 times and has also appeared in movies and television shows. https://www.firefallofficial.com\n\n

Koskinen’s albums are a lyrical and musical metaphor of America’s theaters of war\, history\, relationships\, and reflections in the mirror. “Burning The Deal” was produced by Koskinen and Bernie Larsen (Melissa Etheridge\, Jackson Browne) and recorded by Jason Mariani (Mumford & Sons\, Kenny Loggins) at Brotheryn Studios in Ojai\, California.\nKnowing\, but not didactic\, Koskinen channels the ways of Whitman and reverently enters the anthology of uniquely crafted wry songs with the likes of Woody Guthrie and Ry Cooder while speaking as plainly as your neighbor. The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls Koskinen “the real deal” and “the best country songwriter in Minnesota.”\nAmy LaVere & Will Sexton\, who are married to each other\, are both masters in multiple areas. LaVere\, who is from Memphis\, is a film actress\, an upright bass player and a vocalist who has done time both in punk bands and in Nashville’s country/roots scene. Austin native Sexton had a major label contract with his alternative rock band Will and the Kill in late ’80s when he was still a teenager\, and went on to become a respected songwriter\, guitarist and producer who worked with artists like Joe Ely\, Doyle Bramhall II\, Roky Erickson and Waylon Jennings.\n \nMilwaukee singer-songwriter Kat Wodtke leads Andrew Koenig and Nick Lang (Ryan Necci & the Buffalo Gospel)\, along with Samual Odin (Horseshoes & Hand Grenades)\, on a haunting journey of wide-open spaces and tight spots\, each song blistering with heart and grit.  Poor Pretender\, Long Mama’s debut LP was engineered by Erik Koskinen and recorded live over a long\, snowy weekend in small-town Minnesota.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n

Donations will be accepted!\n \nDavid Huckfelt & The Unarmed Forces\nDavid Huckfelt & The Unarmed Forces: featuring a rotating cast of Minnesota musical luminaries including Jeremy Ylvisaker\, Liz Draper\, and occasional special guest appearances from the likes of Erik Koskinen\, J.T. Bates & more\, Huckfelt’s full band shows are not to be missed.  The Unarmed Forces have appeared at First Avenue & festival stages around the country\, as well as both “Water Is Life” festivals in Duluth with Bon Iver\, Ani Difranco\, Low\, The Indigo Girls and more.  With singular ferocity they deliver the full sound and message of Huckfelt’s two records “Stranger Angels” and “Room Enough\, Time Enough”\, as well as a cache of brand new material building toward a third record\, coming soon.\n \nJoe Rainey Sr.\nJoe Rainey is a Pow Wow singer. His debut album Niineta showcases his command of the style – faithful to tradition – accompanied by cinematic\, bass-heavy production from Andrew Broder. Depending on the song\, his voice can celebrate or console\, welcome or intimidate. No matter the inflection\, each note conveys a clear message: We’re still here. We were here before you were\, and we never left. \n \nKeith Secola Band\nKeith Secola is an icon and ambassador of Native music. He is one of the most influential artists in the field today. Rising from the grassroots of North America\, he is a songwriter of the people. Critics have dubbed him as the Native versions of both Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. NDN Kars (Indian cars)\, his most popular song is considered the contemporary Native American anthem\, achieving legendary status and earning him a well deserved cult following. It has been the number one requested song on tribal radio since the 1992. In 2011\, he joined the ranks of Jimmy Hendrix\, Hank Williams\, Crystal Gale\, and Richie Valens\, and was inducted into the Native Music Hall of Fame. \n\nAnnie Humphrey\nGrowing up on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation in Northern Minnesota\, Annie lived in a home filled with voices made of thunder and nothing could stop it.  Her parents were brilliant people individually.  Her father\, a singer and musician and her mother an artist and poet.  Together they made sadness.  Each of her parents taught Annie the beautiful things they knew.  They showed her that she carried their gifts in her hands too.  This is how creating art and music came about for her.  This is  what saved her.  This is how she lives now. \n\n \nWhat is First Nations Kitchen?\nUniquely\, First Nations Kitchen is a ministry led by indigenous people for indigenous people.  FNK’s Ministry Team leads all aspects of the program on a volunteer-basis without compensation\, though there are specific and agreed-upon roles and responsibilities for team members such as Program/Kitchen Director\, Volunteer Coordinator and Fundraiser. In addition FNK enjoys volunteer support from 13 area Episcopal congregations\, the Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) of William Mitchell\, and multiple churches of various denominations.  The engagement of the partner congregations has evolved as a model for the Episcopal Church in Minnesota which in recent years has collectively discerned a call to engage opportunities for mission in regional settings\, combining efforts\, gifts\, and resources across congregational lines. \n\nFirst Nations Kitchen is primarily a justice-focused\, Gospel-based ministry.  Its primary intent is to provide food to indigenous people who would not otherwise have access to high-quality\, fresh organic food in an environment of radical hospitality and cultural empowerment. While FNK makes full use of its relationship with the Twin Cities Coop Partners (free organic vegetables\, fruits\, and dairy) we desire to deepen its ministry by engaging its guests and volunteers in the production of its own food. It is hoped that the garden will serve as a neighborhood gathering place\, a chance to build deeper relationships with guests and volunteers\, provide an opportunity for traditional harvest ceremonies\, and bring indigenous people together to learn ancestral methods of growing their own food. \n\nThe FNK Ministry Team also wants to deepen and widen its program by investing in its relationships with guests and volunteers.  The kitchen provides a unique opportunity to come together around common interests (mission\, Gospel faithfulness\, addressing real human need) across cultural differences that in other circumstances divide rather than unite.   The team sees transformative potential in deepening their relationship with their parish partners and guests – providing opportunities to know one another better\, regularly engage the practice of Gospel-Based Discipleship\, and together confront and move beyond racism.  There are countless opportunities to more deeply involve parish partners and guests beyond tasks associated with making a meal\, such as building relationships with new volunteers\, fundraising\, tilling soil\, tending the compost pile\, distributing food city-wide.  We want to move from simple task-allocation to a deep\, real invitation to work together – ministry team\, parish partners\, guests — in all aspects of our mission work.  We see the potential result of this harder relationship-building work and the bringing together of a more diverse collection of gifts and talents as nothing less than transformational to us all.

The trio is joined by a supporting cast replete with vocalists and instrumentalists – and as always – a dazzling lineup of special surprise guests. You won’t soon forget this show that has become a beloved annual tradition in the Twin Cities and beyond.  \n\nThe New Standards are three friends\, musicians\, and raconteurs who have been performing together since 2005 in clubs and theaters everywhere\, from Shanghai to New York City. They’ve released half a dozen CDs and populated YouTube with a number of popular videos. In their original state\, they take the form of an unusual trio (standup bass\, piano\, and vibraphone)\, but also inhabit the soul and creative core of the hydra-headed\, funny\, freewheeling\, nutty yet very moving holiday variety show.

Those musicians almost always were drunk and quite often tried to play with us our rock songs. It was a nightmare\, and I hated them all!” But that all changed when Vorobyev heard Chicago. He became an instant fan. “I loved so much the brilliant mixture of rock guitars\, drums\, and jazz horns with bright vocal harmonies\,” he said. \nIn 2014\, Vorobyev decided to indulge his love for the band by gathering a few fellow musicians in a studio to record a video of them playing his favorite Chicago tune\, Brand New Love Affair. \n\n\nNo charts or scores of the song existed so Vorobyev transcribed the tune by ear. The result was a YouTube video that quickly went viral. Since then Leonid & Friends has recorded videos of other Chicago hits including Make Me Smile\, 25 or 6 to 4\, and Saturday In The Park. All total the videos have received more than 50 million views. Also\, Leonid & Friends has recorded two albums showcasing its tribute to Chicago. \nThe process of getting each tune just right is a painstaking labor of love. In addition to scoring and arranging\, Vorobyev oversees mixing and mastering of each song. However\, he credits his highly skilled bandmates for making each tune sing. “All of my musician friends are highly professional\,” he said. \nHowever\, Leonid & Friends hasn’t been satisfied with merely connecting with fans through videos and recordings. In early 2019\, the band embarked on its first tour outside of Russia that had fans dancing in the aisles at sold-out shows in New York\, Los Angeles\, Chicago\, and Florida. Two other scorching coast-to-coast U.S. tours followed that same year. \n“The fans were so eager to see us that some traveled from as far as Hawaii and the Philippines not mentioning flying across the U.S .and driving for hours to attend our shows\,” Vorobyev said. “I was expecting a warm greeting but I didn’t expect such a warm reception and with so much love and gratitude for us.” \nIn Los Angeles\, the band met its musical heroes\, founding members of Chicago\, keyboardist Robert Lamm\, and drummer Danny Seraphine as well as Michelle Kath Sinclair\, daughter of late\, great Chicago guitarist Terry Kath. “We were so thrilled that Robert\, Danny\, and Michelle took the time to visit with us\,” Vorobyev said. “It was an experience that we will cherish and remember forever.” \nWhen Leonid & Friends isn’t touring\, band members are in the studio in Moscow immersing themselves in Chicago’s storied catalog of hits and deep tracks while preparing for the next tour. \nIn September of 2018\, the band recorded its first song from legendary supergroup Earth\, Wind\, & Fire and also paid tribute to the band Blood\, Sweat & Tears as well. \nBorrowing a line from one of Chicago’s biggest hits\, “it’s only the beginning” of great things from Leonid & Friends.
