Close your eyes and you are listening to all those vinyl records again or your AM/FM radio. The idea of the Fabulous Armadillos started with a diverse group of musicians who came together to perform “themed” concerts at the Pioneer Place On Fifth Theater in St. Cloud\, MN. Themes like “One Hit Wonders”\, “Woodstock”\, “Motown”\, “Singer/Songwriters”\, “Stadium Rock” and more. They have now played 100’s of themes at that theater as well as many regional venues in the Midwest and even in Mexico! Each show gaining them new fans and enjoying their brand of fun and entertaining\, yet musically spot on performances. The now five piece project\, featuring Tyler Steinley\, Andy Bauer\, Seamus St Clair\, and Dante DeGrazia\, is set to release their debut album\, Leave the Party Early\, on July 25; made with friend and producer Mike Noyce. The band began to find their musical voice creating this album\, splitting time during the pandemic between Winona\, Minneapolis\, Milwaukee\, and Nick’s wife’s family farm in Northfield\, Minnesota. Leaving comfortable approaches behind\, Mike helped the group tread into new sonic territory. Melancholy thoughts about leaving your twenties behind and feeling out of place are accompanied with swirling pop landscapes throughout the nine track\, 30 minute listen. This is truly the first brave step of this young band. \nThe Immaculate Beings is a queer\, psychedelic\, indie band focused on the importance of self-love\, care\, and validation through music and performance. Coming together from across the Midwest\, Trevor (vox\, guitar)\, Griffin (lead guitar)\, Martin (drums)\, Christian (bass\, backup vox)\, Casey (backup vox)\, and Staurie (keys\, backup vox)\, have dedicated their music careers to helping create a safe space\, which is showcased in their first full-length album\, Mental Space.\nPresent Company is an indie band from Minneapolis\, Minnesota. They released their first album (Talking on Couches) in 2020. Notable for their heavily dramatized performances\, early ’80s post-punk sounds\, and modern indie flair\, this group of four was started by Christian Nelson and Eddie Chisham (songwriting\, vocals\, guitar\, keys). They were later joined by Seth Lemmon (bass) and Berin Joseph (drums).

Dan Murphy\, who was pivotal in the launch of two seminal rock bands: Soul Asylum and Golden Smog\, sold his guitars and amps and quit the game in 2012\, in a letter published by Rolling Stone. A chance meeting at a Christmas  Party with Yacht-Rocker and producer Jeff Arundel\, led to the duo\, whose careers spanned the same time frame but had essentially no other resemblance\, to start writing and recording.\n\nTwo Harbors have released Four full-length albums of impressively cranked-up guitar-driven rock anthems. She graduated from the music program at University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus in 2015 and studied under Maja Radovanlija.  After graduating Tzipporah became involved with She Rock She Rock\, a Minnesota based nonprofit focused on empowering women\, trans\, and nonbinary folks through the art of music.  She taught for three years as a part of She Rock She Rock’s Girls’ Rock and Roll Retreat summer program and served for three years as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.  Tzipporah currently works for Hopewell Music Cooperative North\, a Minnesota non-profit dedicated to breaking down barriers in access to music education in North Minneapolis.  Tzipporah believes that music is a revolutionary force that can bring awareness to issues of injustice\, promote understanding\, and foster positive social change.  In addition to her involvement with She Rock She Rock and Hopewell Music Cooperative North\, Tzipporah is an active performer around the Twin-Cities.  In 2019 her artistry and unique sound helped her advance to the semifinal round of Sun and Sky Entertainment’s “Celebration of Music” competition and talent search (at that time she had not yet reclaimed her Hebrew name and was performing under the name Wendy).  She currently teaches guitar\, ukulele\, and songwriting at El Diablo Amps and Guitars in Northeast Minneapolis. https://tzipporahmusic.com\nSarah Jagoda Larsson sings folk melodies in pursuit of her great-grandmothers’ stories. Their live shows are filled with rage\, passion\, and politically-driven lyrics addressing bigotry\, queerness\, and misogyny. With a satisfyingly raw 80’s garage punk sound\, Surly Grrly uses catchy hooks and tempo changes to rile up a crowd\, mixing originals with a variety of bombastic covers. Vocalist Medbh McNamara and guitarist Eloïse Boigenzahn\, both multi-instrumentalists\, are joined by a rotating cast of band members on bass and drums (most recently\, bassist Lou Levy and drummer Kat Hansberry).RiGBY is a DIY punk band out of St.Paul\, MN. We’re Dying can be streamed anywhere you listen to music. \nRiotgrrrldarko is a 24-year-old self-announced Lady Rager. Born and raised in Minneapolis\, Minnesota\, Darko pushes boundaries bringing a fresh grunge and gritty sound with explicit lyrics to match. The artist proclaims the genre as Grime Core music; often consisting of frenetic trap drums and 808s combined with a hypnotic synth stab to create most instrumentals. Clever verses resolve undeniably catchy hooks\, putting a whole new spin on the classic ’90s “Riot Grrrl” movement. The group formed in 2014 after Mattson disbanded his national touring group Ol’ Yeller and settled into his new home in Northern MN where he runs Sparta Sound recording studio. He and his partner in music and love\, Germaine Gemberling\, have recorded and released 10 full-length albums in their 13 years together. The latest\, with the Northstars\, was pieced together during the pandemic lockdowns and the group has come back stronger and more passionate than ever\, ready to take on the world\, sometimes performing as a 6 piece supergroup. No show is wasted\, every time they get together is special.   \n \nCanadian rock legend Dave Rave has not performed in Minneapolis since January of 2020 and has been greatly missed for his high energy\, chaotic rock and roll shows with his Minnesota band The Governors. Typically arriving biannually in January and June\, “Raver” has recorded and released 6 albums of “tough pop” with Minnesota music luminaries Craig Teiken\, Terry Isakson\, Rich Mattson\, Chad Mittag\, Tom Cook\, and a plethora of others. When not writing and recording here in the Gopher State\, Dave resides in Hamilton\, Ontario where he fronts the popular rock group Teenage Headalong with several other projects – The Shakers and Dave Rave & The Second Responders among them.\n \n13 Howell is an original four-piece rock band from Minneapolis-St. Paul. Formed in the winter of 2018 by Deidre Caron (RuDeGiRL\, Spy Vacation)\, Neil Johnston (Tim Malloys)\, Scott Schwister (Tim Malloys\, Goodbye Sun) and Chris Gerrard (Spy Vacation)\, 13 Howell borrows sometimes shamelessly\, sometimes subconsciously from a wide variety of genres and random influences\, making music which is often loud\, intense and psychedelic\, and occasionally soft and sweet or just ridiculous; songs of honey\, bathtub spiders\, warring hares and the cold surface of the moon. Tonight they will promote the release of their new album Thomasson Bomb\, also recorded at Sparta Sound.

That’s right\, they have a traditional bluegrass lineup and play all of your favorite butt-rock hits from the 1980’s. Beneath their big hair\, bitching clothes\, and bad attitudes lies a group of rippin’ flat pickers who are never afraid to take it to the next level. Their high-energy compositions are performed with just the right amount of Minnesota twang\, creating a genre all-their-own called “Ass Grass.” The Burbillies have taken the greatest hits of the 1980’s and transformed them into hard hitting bluegrass compositions.  \nFormed in 2015 in the dead center of the thriving Midwest roots music scene in Stevens Point\, WI\, the four members of Dig Deep drew inspiration from their shared appreciation for traditional bluegrass and country music\, their love of rock and roll\, and their combined decades of hard gigging in the punk/metal scenes\, local bars and roadhouses\, and regional festivals.
