That’s right\, they have a traditional bluegrass lineup and play all of your favorite butt-rock hits from the 1980’s. Beneath their big hair\, bitching clothes\, and bad attitudes lies a group of rippin’ flat pickers who are never afraid to take it to the next level. Their high-energy compositions are performed with just the right amount of Minnesota twang\, creating a genre all-their-own called “Ass Grass.” The Burbillies have taken the greatest hits of the 1980’s and transformed them into hard hitting bluegrass compositions.  \nFormed in 2015 in the dead center of the thriving Midwest roots music scene in Stevens Point\, WI\, the four members of Dig Deep drew inspiration from their shared appreciation for traditional bluegrass and country music\, their love of rock and roll\, and their combined decades of hard gigging in the punk/metal scenes\, local bars and roadhouses\, and regional festivals. Three releases and 600+ shows later\, they have firmly established themselves as an utterly unique and powerful force in the roots world. With a body of work that showcases their vision\, craft\, heart\, and clout as songwriters and instrumentalists\, Dig Deep has earned a reputation for their well-honed and hard-edged sound that goes far beyond bluegrass\, as well as their blistering and boisterous live performances that give audiences much more than a string band show.

The production is gorgeous\, original and naturally ‘Amy’\, captured perfectly by producer and husband\, Will Sexton. Mojo Magazine gave the project 4 out of 4 stars. Be it a small listening environment or a grand festival stage\, there’s no room she can’t find an audience in and charm it to pieces. There is so much more to come from Amy. Her 8th studio record is in the works.  \nThe Roe Family Singers are a Good-Time\, Old-Time Hillbilly band from the tiny community of Kirkwood Hollow\, MN. Led by wife & husband Kim Roe (Best Female Vocalist\, City Pages/Village Voice) and Quillan Roe (Accident Clearinghouse)\, the band marries old-time sounds from barn-dances\, fiddle pulls\, and county fairs with the rock & roll passion of youth. Featuring banjo\, autoharp\, guitar\, and Appalachian clogging\, the band and family of fans have been regularly filling Minneapolis’ 331 Club every Monday night since 2005. They’ve shared the stage with Doc Watson\, Ralph Stanley\, Mike Seeger\, Del McCoury\, the Grascals\, and Jim Kweskin & Geoff Muldaur.

The safe and intimate room with great sound gives the audience an opportunity to immerse into the stories and craft of the song.\nHaley has been making music since high school\, when her first of many records was self-released before graduation. Her first punk band was called Frankie Horsesh*t\, and a decade later she founded the punk/new wave band Gramma’s Boyfriend\, which she is the front woman and main songwriter for. Haley has published short stories and poetry\, produced all of her 9 full length LPs\, and self-recorded\, produced\, and released 5 EPs. \n\nUntil 2017\, she released under the name Haley Bonar before choosing her maternal surname ‘McCallum’\, shifting her stage name to just ‘Haley’. Many of her songs can be heard in tv shows such as Orange is the New Black\, Transparent\, Arrow\, United States of Tara\, as well as commercials and film trailers. In 2013\, Haley was awarded the prestigious McKnight Fellowship for performing songwriters. She has toured across the United States\, Canada\, Europe\, and the UK. \n\nIn 2018\, Haley composed her first full length instrumental album\, Pleasureland\, and created 6 of the album’s 12 accompanying videos. Although she has been creating work for 18 years\, the fact that it feels like Haley is just beginning is possibly the most remarkable thing about her artistry. Moving with confidence and vulnerability through genre and category\, Haley’s music engages the audience regardless of the direction it is coming from.

Between 1986 and 1992\, the band released three popular albums and became an important part of the Twin Cities music scene. The members of JUMP are huge fans of Van Halen\, and perform the Van Halen hits from 1978 – 1996\, a deep catalog of songs that propelled hard rock to the forefront of the music scene.  From the David Lee Roth era to the Sammy Hagar years\, JUMP covers two decades of iconic music from one of the most famous rock bands in history. This band has been assembling all the right players for a long time\, long before the great guitarist and founding member Eddie Van Halen passed away October 6th\, 2020. The safe and intimate room with great sound gives the audience an opportunity to immerse into the stories and craft of the song.\nRogue Valley is an Americana band based in Minnesota; in the Twin Cities where the blend of urban development and natural landscapes converge along the shores of the storied Mississippi River. Since racing onto the scene a little over a decade ago\, with 4 full-length albums in a single year\, things have been relatively quiet with regards to new music. In 2016 the band released the twangy surf-rock anthemic collection radiate/dissolve and the following year\, a single featuring vocalist Linnea Mohn\, Taking Possession\, but after that has been mostly sporadic optimistic social media posts promising “Coming Soon.”  \n\nThe band members have all been busy with other music and creative projects; Linnea singing with other artists including Aby Wolf\, Jonatha Brooke\, and contributing to a musical with playwright Perrin Post. Drummer Luke Anderson and guitarist Peter Sieve have joined Lissie’s band for some tour dates\, and bassist Cody McKinney is possibly the busiest low end in the Twin Cities. Singer-songwriter Chris Koza has released 2 solo albums and an instrumental album since radiate/dissolve and will be joining legendary songwriter Gordon Lightfoot later this summer on a run of midwest dates.

Formed in February 2022 as a 4-piece drone group to close Rock Box at Art Shanties\, Ice Climber has evolved into the sonic force it is today featuring over 20 artists in its roster. Justin Johnson on bass\, and Paul Schwarzkopf on drums lay down pummeling grooves that keep the ship on course while Xochi de la Luna searches for lyrical nuggets to lay down. The rotating combination of guitars\, percussion\, horns\, keys\, wind\, string instruments\, and the occasional guest vocalist make Ice Climber a true mesmerizing experience time and time again. \nAlondra Noctvrna is a Chilean and American musical artist. Active since 2019\, her electronic sound has been influenced by synthwave\, witch house and hyperpop. In August 2021 she presents “H1jX de la Máquina” (translated as “Son/Daughter of the Machine”)\, her first self-produced EP and distributed under the independent label “Leviatán” from Valparaíso\, Chile. The EP travels through various soundscapes from the ambient ethereal to dance synth. The result is a manifesto that crosses personal conflicts\, political criticism and transhumanism. \nShadingthesun: The brainchild of local producer Aaron Matthew\, Shadingthesun is a future-by-way-of-1984\, dark-pop band in the vein of Depeche Mode\, The Cure\, New Order\, Slowdive\, Beach House\, and so on\, with an aggressive-yet-dreamy live show that will simultaneously make you dance and cry. \nBirdcop is a five piece band hailing from Rochester Mn. Birdcop brings elements of punk\, garage\, and hardcore and blends them all together with maxed out fuzz pedals and politically charged lyrics.  \nMayda is a young yet seasoned Korean Adoptee multi-musician/artist/producer from the land of 10\,000 Lakes. “Her R&B-infused pop is undeniably fresh\, as she swings between pared-down acoustic struts\, full-band funkadelic blasts\, and electronic drumbeats and synth flourishes that would make the Purple One proud. The result is a slick\, expansive\, and evolving pop sound\, aided in part by producer and mentor Michael Bland (who drummed with Prince in the early ’90s and currently plays with Nick Jonas)\, whose Sonic Matrimony Collective label released Mayda’s first full-length\, The Interrogation\, last year.
