Their often fierce\, happy sound is more nitro than retro. And while the band has spread out around the globe — with different members putting down roots in Austin\, Pittsburgh\, West Virginia\, Arizona\, even Switzerland for a few years — they’ve always called the Twin Cities their spiritual home\, always regrouped for gigs and mini-tours\, and never seriously contemplated splitting up. \nFor the uninitiated\, the band made their recording debut in 1993\, with “The Stimulating Sound of The Vibro Champs” Never was an album title more apt! They have opened shows for their heroes\, Ronnie Dawson (R.I.P.) and El Vez. They’ve appeared as the house band on Comedy Central’s nationally-broadcast series\, “Let’s Bowl.” They’ve recorded with Jim Sundquist\, of the legendary Fendermen. They’ve been caught on video by pioneering rock filmmaker\, Chuck Statler. And the combo starred in a brief\, very cool flick simply called\, “The Vibro Champs Documentary” — check it out on YouTube. What highlights will their fourth decade bring? Stay tuned\, folks. \nThe Sex Rays Retro Rocknroll from Minneapolis. Touring and releasing original music since 2009\, they’ve played everywhere from Rockaway Beach to Clarksdale. Featuring Joe Hastings\, Joe Holland\, Ben Crunk\, Ben Bachman.

Also joining the festivities will be alt-country favorite Hemma and eclectic jazz/pop artist Rabeca for a magical night of music and special guests!\n \nRiley Skinner is an electro-folk musician and singer-songwriter newly based in Minneapolis. Her intriguing melodies\, textured layers of sound\, and intimate lyrics blend a nostalgic 90s angst with modern folk sensibilities. Skinner’s music asks the listener to join her in being vulnerable\, being gentle\, being honest\, and being brave.\n—\nMinneapolis’ Rabeca never stays in one place for too long—each song meanders from meditative solos to upbeat drum shuffles and rich chordal harmonies. Drawing on their individual backgrounds in jazz big band\, madrigal singing\, and jam bands\, Rabeca fuses improvisation with catchy hooks to capture playful and joyous energy.\n—\nHemma is the songwriting moniker for multi-instrumentalist and balladeer Hannah Hebl. The latest batch of songs in this alt-country artist’s decade of writing have drawn influence from her time singing with powerhouses Wendy Lewis\, Rachel Ries\, and many other fine songwriters in the vibrant scene that spans between her old home of Eau Claire and her new home\, the Twin Cities.

Founded in 2016\, the six-piece band is rooted in the best parts of ’90s/’00s ska and punk\, infused with a healthy dose of contemporary influence\, and combined with a lyrical urgency and message to meet the moment. \nLost Island Society plays energetic Ska! Featuring Members of such bands as Ten Ton Bridge\, Rank Strangers & more\n \nAlternative Americana rock band\, The Changeups\, are based in Minneapolis fronted by vocalist\, songwriter and guitarist Alicia Kay.  The lineup consists of co-founder and guitarist/songwriter Jimmy Baker (Crazed Individuals\, Eddie Mac)\, as well as drummer Aaron Rosener (Matt Jennings\, Unclick)\, and bassist Jeff Ellington (The Fake McCoys\, The Roosevelts).  Their various backgrounds as rock\, country\, R&B\, folk and punk musicians make for a distinct sound changing the song style throughout a performance.  Alicia’s emotional lyrics and twangy heartfelt singing trickled in with Jimmy’s fun pop songs charm any audience and is loved by fans of Neko Case\, Lucinda Williams and Lydia Loveless.\n \n\nWhen Sabyre Rae’s blues and jazz meanderings give way to her alt-country and folk roots\, the result is a swampy\, bayou-infused stomp all the way up the Mississippi River to the Heartland. Through the ‘70’s and ‘80’s\, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart topping hits like: “Reminiscing\,”  “Cool Change\,” “Lonesome Loser\,” “The Night Owls\,”  “Take It Easy On Me\,”  “Help Is on Its Way\,”  “Happy Anniversary\,”   “We Two\,”  “Man On Your Mind\,”  “The Other Guy\,”  and “It’s A Long Way There.” Worldwide album and CD sales now top 30 million. And in 1982 LRB set a record for having had Top 10 hits for 6 consecutive years – In fact\, they were the very first band to achieve that remarkable plateau! Bringing their vocal and musical energy along with great arrangements to their timeless classic hits\, each show creates new memories for the audience.  The band enjoys watching their fans fall in love with the songs all over again as they are swept up by the show’s powerful performance and the volume of hits from LRB’s history. With over 100 dates scheduled or being scheduled for their 2021-22 tour\, Little River Band is hotter than ever – selling out shows and making music from coast to coast – continuing their legacy of being “the best singing band in the world.” https://reallittleriverband.com\n \nThe 70’s Magic Sunshine Band is a high-energy live concert experience that plays the biggest top 40 AM radio hits from the 1970s\, tailor-made to fill the dance floor! For more than 40 years\, the Southern Rock legends have celebrated triumphs and endured tragedies to remain one of the most influential and best-loved bands of the genre. Today\, The Outlaws have returned with new music\, new focus and an uncompromising new mission: It’s about a band of brothers bound together by history\, harmony and the road. But most of all\, it’s about pride. \n \nFor Atlanta Rhythm Section have entertained audiences all over the world with their many Top 10 hits.  Along with contemporaries Lynyrd Skynyrd\, they carry the mantle of “Southern Rock\,” but by performing more musically diverse hits with a softer\, pop flavor\, they have a sound all their own Hits include “So Into You\,”  “Imaginary Lover\,” “Champagne Jam\,”  “Doraville\,” “I’m Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight\,” “Do It Or Die” and “Spooky”.\n\n \n\n

Boston-based artist  Jeremy Moses Curtis is touring in support of his new release “Midlife Chrysler”and will kick off the night.\n \nErik Koskinen is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist\, whose music is not categorized by sub-genres. Stylistically he is on his own. Influenced by roots music of the Americas and the world\, the rhythmic integrity and musical tone are as important as the lyrical content and the artistic intent. \nSprouted from a blend of American folk\, country\, rock-n-roll\, and blues\, Erik Koskinen  and his top-shelf band realize a sound that is distinctive and fresh while familiar and classic. Koskinen’s albums are a lyrical and musical metaphor of America’s theaters of war\, history\, relationships\, and reflections in the mirror. “Burning The Deal” was produced by Koskinen and Bernie Larsen (Melissa Etheridge\, Jackson Browne) and recorded by Jason Mariani (Mumford & Sons\, Kenny Loggins) at Brotheryn Studios in Ojai\, California.\n The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls Koskinen “the real deal” and “the best country songwriter in Minnesota.”\n—\nJeremy Moses Curtis — “Moses” to his bandmates — is better known for his work as the bassist for artists as diverse as Booker T\, Dave Alvin\, Bill Morrissey\, Bow Thayer\, Twinemen\, Jeffrey Foucault\, Kris Delmhorst\, Billy Conway (Morphine)\, and Chris Smither\, or as the composer in the instrumental band Thank God For Science. A musician par excellence\, a card-counter\, the minister of the low end. He’s currently touring in support of “Midlife Chrysler”\, his new\, highly-acclaimed album. \n \n“Midlife Chrysler is the kind of record it takes a lifetime of music to make … I hear Tweedy in the magpie eclecticism\, Prine in the strangeness that lands\, Bobby Charles in the patient groove. American music is starving. This is a banquet.”– Jeffrey Foucault

Joslyn & The Sweet Compression (including Steve Holloman – keyboards\, Smith Donaldson – bass\, Rashawn Fleming – drums\, Trevin Little – saxophone\, and Chase Fleming – trombone and trumpet ) combine to deliver a hook-filled mix of funk and soul on their self-titled debut album\, released in 2019. www.joslynandtsc.com\n“Magical…gives everybody the joy.”– Billboard Magazine  \n \n“A refreshing take on the neo-soul / funk sound\, unbound by modern cliches.”– Glide Magazine  \n \n“A marvel…an instant classic!” – Soul Tracks  \n \n“I’ve never seen a band come up more quickly…with more immediate skill and swagger than Joslyn & the Sweet Compression. Joslyn’s vocal command and stage presence is special\, and her band is brick-sh**house tight.”– Travis Young\, Moonshiner’s Ball\n“The music Joslyn Hampton conjures onstage is rich with the funk\, soul\, and rock ’n’ roll inspirations of multiple generations\, and at the heart of the brassy attack of her band\, The Sweet Compression\, and in the clear and confident command of her singing\, sits a core element: Groove.” – Walter Tunis\, Lexington Herald-Leader\n

Cindy’s celebrating her second release on Boston’s Rum Bar Records with a major blowout extravaganza featuring the snarly punk bops of the Spit Takes\, the in-your-face exuberance of Surly Grrly\, and Cindy’s fierce rock action\, all served up by the former Miss Twin Cities Pride and current diva-licious emcee Gosh Alice Jones! —–Cindy Lawson began her rock and roll career in Minneapolis in 1985 with her all-female rock band\, The Clams. Over the years\, she has played in several bands in Minneapolis and New York City\, but then took a break starting in the late 90’s. She returned in full force with a new band in 2021 and in 2022 released “New Tricks”\, her first full length record in 25 years on Boston’s Rum Bar Records. New Tricks got airplay both nationally (on Little Steven’s Underground Garage and on Little Steven’s Coolest Songs in the World) and internationally\, garnering rave reviews in publications across the globe. In April of 2023\, she released a new single and video called “Don’t Come Crying To Me” that was immediately picked for Little Steven’s Coolest Songs in the World and is currently in rotation on Sirius XM. It’s also been chosen for The Racket’s Local Music Playlist for 2023.  \nShe’s backed by longtime collaborator and inventive guitarist Jerry Lefkowitz (of The Young Nashvillians\, Something Fierce\, Whoops Kitty\, and Fauna\, among others)\, bassist and multi- instrumentalist Dave Randall\, whose rock bonafides include The Spectors\, The Boot R&B\, The Silent Treatment\, Kinda Kinky\, and many more\, and on the drums is Mark Devaraj\, who’s kept the beat going in bands High on Stress\, Whiskey Rock and Roll Club\, The Heavy Sixers\, as well as dozens of other Minneapolis bands. \nGosh Alice Jones: From the streets of Provincetown Massachusetts to the lakes of Minnesota Gosh has been the mouth on the mic hosting Rochester Pride\, Mankato Pride\, and Twin Cities Pride. She’s been Miss Gay Southeast MN\, Miss Twin Cities Pride\, Miss North Star Gay Rodeo Association and the Duchess of the Big Red Lips in the Imperial Court of MN. She’s a little bit country and a whole lot of rock and roll.  Join her in celebrating the record release of the one and only Cindy Lawson! Spit Takes is a new Minneapolis punk band with VansAnn (Pink Triggers) on vocals\, Monet Wong (Mad Mojo Jett\, The Toxenes) on guitar\, Angie Lynch (Big Salt) on bass and Charles Gehr (Pink Mink\, Seawhores) on drums. The band’s overall approach has been aptly described as “…big riffs and thunderous drumming paired with mosh-pit friendly hooks and choruses…hilarious and defiantly crude\, feminist…delivered with a zero f*cks given aplomb…”  \nSurly Grrly is a MPLS-based queercore protest band that likes to have fun while loudly fucking the patriarchy. Their live shows are filled with rage\, passion\, and politically-driven lyrics addressing bigotry\, queerness\, and misogyny. With a satisfyingly raw 80’s garage punk sound\, Surly Grrly uses catchy hooks and tempo changes to rile up a crowd\, mixing originals with a variety of classic punk rock covers. The band’s current members are vocalist/guitarist Medbh McNamara\, guitarist/vocalist Eloïse Boigenzahn\, bassist Lou Levy & drummer Peter Korhonen.
