Regardless of what ended up happening between Strung Out’sprevious record—2019’s Songs Of Armor And Devotion—and this new collection of songs\, it was always the band’s intention to step away from themselves a little bit with it. Although Dead Rebellion—the band’s 10th album of their remarkable 35 year career—was written during the height of the pandemic and is\, as all Strung Out albums have been\, a reaction to the world at large and their own personal experiences within it\, the band had already decided to end that chapter before Covid. A new beginning had long been in the works.—-New York City based street punk band The Casualties originally formed in 1990. Since then the band has released a number of EP’s & LP’s on various labels. In 1996 the Casualties became the first American band to appear at the “Holidays in the Sun” Festival in London. 1997 saw the release of the band’s debut album For the Punx. In 2017\, it was announced that original frontman Jorge Herrera had officially retired from touring. As of 2022\, the band consists of members Jake Kolatis (guitarist)\, Marc Meggers (drums)\, Doug Wellmon (bass)\, and David Rodriguez (vocals).\n—-Whether you’re looking for the slick hardcore punk musicianship of shredding guitars\, pounding bass and thunderous drums or the oft-inspiring message of a band capable of bringing generations of punk rockers together the Venomous Pinks are very much what the present and future look like. These ladies will rock your world in every room of the house\, clear out to the parking lot. Formed when stepsisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse were just 9 and 13\, the Oklahoma-bred band have channeled their chameleonic musicality into a sound they call “ugly-pop”\, unruly and subversive and wildly melodic. With Kelli’s brother Kurtis Mayo joining on drums in 2017\, they’ve also built a close-knit community of fans while earning the admiration of their musical forebears\, a feat that’s found them collaborating with icons like X’s Exene Cervenka and Beat Happening’s Calvin Johnson\, touring with Babes In Toyland\, and starring as the subject of a feature-length documentary.
