But\, whatever expectations they’d first conjured of a typical tour stop melted away as they\, along with millions of other Americans\, watched in horror as ICE terrorized this great city. \n \nInstead of dropping the date altogether\, local friends encouraged them\, “the time for music is now.” And so they reconfigured and planned a night of rest and recuperation for the wonderful people of Minneapolis.\n \nJesse had heard from friends on the ground about MONARCA-MN\, equipping observers to defend free speech\, peaceful protest and due process\, and needing donations. “I wonder about actually making it a fundraiser from people who DON’T live in Minneapolis\,” David said\, “for them to donate\, rather than asking the people there in the middle of the front lines to do it.” \n \nWe don’t want money to be a barrier for anyone who wants to attend. Minneapolis favorite Mother Banjo (Ellen Stanley) opens the night with poetic songwriting and a soulful mix of folk\, bluegrass\, and Americana.\n\n—– \n\nBeth Bombara lives at the intersection of 70’s folk soul and 90’s indie rock heart.
