Artist\, tunesmith\, swamp Yankee international touring artist Matt Lorenz is a one-man salvage specialist singing into the hollow of a dumpster guitar\, slipping a broken bottleneck onto the slide finger\, railing on a box of twisted forks and bones\, rocking until every sound is ragged at its edges\, till the house is singing back. He brings wild energy with a punk-folk-busker-psych rock vibe to each performance. \n \nThe Suitcase Junket is filling rooms and drawing festival crowds all over his native New England and beyond from opening nights for Lake Street Dive and Charlie Musselwhite to Mountain Stage in West Virginia. He caught the attention of National Public Radio who chose his video session for “Earth Apple” from his 2015 album Make Time as one of the year’s favorite sessions.\n  “The overall sound lands somewhere between The Avett Brothers and early\, dirty Black Keys. There’s a Tom Waits vibe in the fuzzy megaphone reverb mic\, and something ancient\, rear tribal in his whistles and moans.” – The Boston Globe\n“The Suitcase Junket is a master of musical imagination.” – NPR World Cafe

Our music blends melodic guitars and vocals with a driving bass sound\, taking listeners on a journey through pop culture nostalgia. Influenced by 90s and 2000s punk and emo\, our sound resonates with fans of Thrice\, NOFX\, Face to Face\, and Iron Maiden.\nWe’re a five-piece band ready to fill any stage with non-stop energy from the moment we hit that first chord. Get ready for a high-octane performance that’ll leave you wanting more – so bring extra socks\, because we’re about to blow them off!—\nstop.drop.rewind is what happens when emo kids grow up and get jazz degrees!\nKris Lohn & DJ Crenson have been writing & playing music together continuously since 2000\, in almost any formal and informal situation you can think of: punk bands\, orchestras\, church band\, ska club\, singer-songwriter groups\, school band\, and of course their prog-punk band stop.drop.rewind. This has given them a unique perspective on writing both as a team and on music in general\, plus insight into persevering and forging your own path in an unforgiving industry. They added Andy Sutton in 2015 to fully solidify their unique\, energetic\, and ever-evolving sound. Kris and Andy are not only the core rhythm section for ‘stop.drop.rewind’\, but have backed up premier artists on hundreds of performances in the Chicagoland area and nationwide (Marbin\, Slim Gambill of Lady A\, Kofi Baker\, Joe Marcinek and more). Hot off the release of their self-titled 4th record\, the band is touring the West Coast and gearing up for their second trip to Canada – after a highly successful stint there in 2024. —Underground ‘til Sundown\nFour friends mentally aging like fine wine\, physically aging like the cheese in the back of your fridge. \nThrashy punk/ melodic hardcore with hints of pop punk based out of northern Minnesota. \n—\n\nAnslem \n‘You may know Anslem. But do you? From parts unknown.’

Inspired by Umphrey’s McGee\, Snarky Puppy\, Lettuce\, Phish and many others\, their innovative original songs and ambitious interpretations of popular covers offer an impressive blend of jazz fusion\, prog rock\, jam rock and more\, all with the consistent underlying grooves of funk. Wurk has opened for acts including The Motet and Andy Frasco & the U.N. and helped pack venues across the Midwest. Described by Isthmus Magazine as “summer-jam-perfect” and two-time recipient of the Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) Artist of the Year Award (2019\, 2022)\, Wurk fills the gap between complexity and groove\, impressing fans and keeping them dancing all night.Frank Laufenberg uses his electric guitar to provide funky rhythms and dense chord structure while filling the role of principal songwriter and vocalist. He leads the charge alongside Daniel Haschke (saxophones/flute) who hypes the crowds by leaping off of the stage and spreading his infectious joy to the dance floor. Max Morkri’s blend of solid grooving and intricate drum chops and Jory Carlin’s powerful bass lines glue the band together. Carl Hipenbecker (trumpet/synth/vocals) and Brandon Jensen (keys/synth) offer a diverse range of skills to make each tune fresh and unique. Most of Wurk’s members grew up in Mount Horeb\, WI\, just west of Madison; their shared background creates the band’s closeness and ability to communicate complicated ideas musically.\n—\nJOJO GREEN Roots FusionJoJo Green has a hot\, fresh take on a cozy\, nostalgic sound. Led by wailing diva\, Sharisse Germain\, this high-energy band performs a mix of originals and unique takes on classic and modern covers driven rhythmically by funk bass and blues guitar\, decorated by a dancing\, ripping saxophone. JoJo Green’s live show has been lauded as “Bombastic!” by Mostly Minnesota Music\, and their music praised as “…a band to see!” by AmericanaHighways.com. This powerhouse band will never fail to get you on your feet and leave you wanting more.—Sunshine and the NightwalkersSunshine and The Night Walkers is an eight piece funk and blues band from Minneapolis\, Mn. The band is the project of Sunshine Parker who has been writing and performing in the Twin Cities for twenty years. With songs ranging from pure sweaty Funk to a Klezmer bop they intend to keep you guessing while you groove to the thick horns and vocals. Born In The Bedroom their second full length album is coming out summer of 2025. Born In The Basement\, their first full length album\, released in the summer of 2022.

But\, whatever expectations they’d first conjured of a typical tour stop melted away as they\, along with millions of other Americans\, watched in horror as ICE terrorized this great city. \n \nInstead of dropping the date altogether\, local friends encouraged them\, “the time for music is now.” And so they reconfigured and planned a night of rest and recuperation for the wonderful people of Minneapolis.\n \nJesse had heard from friends on the ground about MONARCA-MN\, equipping observers to defend free speech\, peaceful protest and due process\, and needing donations. “I wonder about actually making it a fundraiser from people who DON’T live in Minneapolis\,” David said\, “for them to donate\, rather than asking the people there in the middle of the front lines to do it.” \n \nWe don’t want money to be a barrier for anyone who wants to attend. If you’re not able to contribute to the MONARCA fundraiser\, please feel free to use the promo code MONARCAMN for one of the limited number of respite tickets we’re reserving for folks who need an evening of rest and community. \n \nAnyone can donate at the door if they’re so moved. The good folks at Wrecktangle are donating pizza to feed anyone there who’s hungry. “We’d especially love for our friends\, family and fans outside of Minnesota to help us offer this show to the people of Minneapolis\, to those fighting for freedom and justice for all of us\,” Jesse said. “After we make sure the staff at Hook & Ladder get paid and cover their costs\, we’re going to donate all proceeds from this show to MONARCA and their work with immigrants and protesters.” https://monarcamn.org/

Beth Bombara’s guitar-driven songs blend ’70s folk soul with ’90s indie rock spirit—honest\, melodic\, and quietly powerful. Minneapolis favorite Mother Banjo (Ellen Stanley) opens the night with poetic songwriting and a soulful mix of folk\, bluegrass\, and Americana.\n\n—– \n\nBeth Bombara lives at the intersection of 70’s folk soul and 90’s indie rock heart. Her guitar-driven songs blend emotional honesty with sparkling melodies\, creating something that feels both timeless and immediate. \nBut Bombara’s story is as much about perseverance as it is about sound. After working with different labels that eventually folded beneath her feet\, she kept writing\, kept recording\, kept moving forward with determination. She’s toured internationally\, and released self-produced albums garnering the attention of BBC radio\, American Songwriter Magazine\, Uncut Magazine and more. But in late 2025\, an accident left her with a broken wrist\, broken ribs\, and a few months of canceled shows. Unable to play guitar or sing without pain\, Bombara found herself stripped down to what matters most: the music itself\, the gratitude for each day\, the clarity that comes from loss. \nHer upcoming record reflects this evolution—sonically bolder\, lyrically more vulnerable\, produced with fresh perspective alongside her own refined instincts. It’s a natural expansion of everything she’s built across five critically acclaimed albums\, informed by grit\, grace\, and a renewed understanding that time is precious. \nShe’s not one to sit still for too long. And that’s exactly the point. \n————– \nFeaturing Ellen Stanley on banjo and vocals\, Mother Banjo is a New England-raised\, Minneapolis-based songwriter. Called “an outstanding poet” (Inside Bluegrass)\, she was a Midwest Finalist for the prestigious NewSong Contest. She has been featured nationally on SiriusXM Radio\, CMT.com\, The Bluegrass Situation and Americana UK and has shared the stage with such A-list songwriters as Dar Williams\, Charlie Parr and Jim Lauderdale. She and her award-winning band just released a special 10th Anniversary Vinyl Edition of the Mother Banjo Band’s best-selling gospel album The Devil Hasn’t Won\, featuring their unique brand of soulful folk\, bluegrass and Americana. \nWhether performing solo or with her full 5-piece band\, she is an engaging performer that brings a playful energy to the stage even when singing the saddest of songs. When not writing or recording her own music\, she is busy supporting other artists\, hosting the syndicated Womenfolk Radio Show and the Back Catalog Listening Party podcast.  \n—\n“traditional folk and bluegrass sounds with genuinely poetic lyrics\, landing somewhere between Gillian Welch and Lucy Kaplansky.”-Minneapolis Star Tribune
