The night will be a rousing rock’n’roll blowout celebrating brand new music releases for three bands: Fret Rattles\, New Rocket Union and Supermodified. The event also features rare appearances by legendary bands The Mighty Mofos and The Short Fuses who are sure to blow the roof off with their high energy shows. Mad Mojo Jett’s trashy punk set and a guest appearance by Devil’s Teeth from Milwaukee round out the evening. Vinyl DJs MEGANO and LadyTracy keep the party going between sets. This epic fuzz fest will have staggered set times so those joining the festivities are able to catch all the bands and DJs.

A one-man explosion\, he is loud-as-war one minute\, stepping off the microphone to whisper to an enthralled audience the next. This is a dynamic performance informed by politics\, passion\, intelligence and the all-important sense of humor. \nHis caustic wit and devil-may-care attitude have long been a favorite of anti-establishment icons Aesop Rock\, Kimya Dawson\, Ani DiFranco and the critical elite inciting Rolling Stone magazine to call him “Bald\, bold and superbad!” \nFaith Boblett is a Minneapolis based singer-songwriter with roots in northern Minnesota and was named one of 2018’s Best New Bands by First Avenue. Local favorites Jeff Ray and Hurricane Harold open. \nDustin Arbuckle and Matt Woods were nominated for a 2021 Blues Music Award ~ Best Acoustic Blues Album for their debut\, self-titled release! Both have each been hard at work on the blues and roots music scene for nearly two decades. \nDustin Arbuckle was a founding member of the critically acclaimed progressive roots rock/blues act Moreland & Arbuckle\, with whom he toured internationally and released 7 albums over 15 years before the band parted ways in 2017. \nMatt Woods has been a fixture of the midwestern music community\, averaging over 100 shows per year and recording 3 albums as a solo artist and 2 with his former band\, The Thunderbolts. \nThe two have developed a strong musical chemistry based on their mutual passion for old-school blues\, especially the traditional rural styles of Mississippi and the electric Chicago blues sounds of the 1940s and 50s. Their music combines these influences with elements of gospel\, country music\, and more\, while Woods’ fiery voice and tenacious guitar playing blend perfectly with Arbuckle’s more subtly soulful singing and harmonica style to give the duo the ability to deliver it all with power and authenticity. \nAcoustic duo Jeff Ray and Hurricane Harold have been described as “Delta meets Dead with a little Zen thrown in.” They take risks with their music\, sounding both old and new at the same time.

Special guests Leslie Rich & The Rocket Soul Choir open. \nHailing from the great Northwoods of Minnesota\, Rich Mattson and Germaine Gemberling have been writing\, recording\, and performing together since 2010. The latest incarnation of the Northstars (with longtime drummer and cohort Keely Lane and bassist Kyle Westrick) released their 5th album “Skylights” in February of 2021 to rave reviews and high praise from the indie rock/americana/jangle-core crowd. With influences ranging from the Byrds\, Neil Young\, Petty\, X\, and Link Wray\, the group’s original “cosmic folk” has cycled back to a more roots-rocking sound in recent years. \nThe Northstars perform all around Minnesota and beyond and have been invited to share the stage with such notable acts as the Minus 5\, the Jayhawks\, and Trampled By Turtles. Somewhat of a Minnesota music staple\, Mattson is well known for his songwriting and outstanding showmanship as well as his work with literally thousands of artists at his Sparta Sound recording studio. Another Rich Mattson and the Northstars album is due for Fall 2022 featuring new keyboardist Dan Anderson. \nLeslie Rich & the Rocket Soul Choir release The Butcher Boy\, the long-awaited follow-up to their lauded EP Kidder’s Son. Drawing comparisons to America’s most revered rock songwriters like Tom Petty and John Mellencamp\, Belfast-born Leslie Rich writes songs that are immediate and timeless\, whether singing about unrequited love\, hitting rock bottom or just finding the will to keep going in the face of extreme hardship. Together with his Minnesota-based trio\, he makes perfectly crafted pop songs that showcase the band’s tight groove and Americana-inspired harmonies\, delivering joy and optimism at a time when we need it most.
