SUMMARY:The Way Down Wanderers with Cassandra Cole
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nThe Hook and Ladder Theater \n\nDoors 7:30pm :: Music 8:00pm \n\n21+ \n\nGENERAL ADMISSION $12 ADV / $15 DOS \n\n\n COVID-19 Policies\n \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n EVENT DESCRIPTION \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nNobool Presents \nThe Way Down Wanderers\nwith Cassandra Cole\n—- \n\nThe Way Down Wanderers are often referred to by fans as one of the hardest-working\, hardest-touring bands on the circuit today\, the 5-piece Illinois-based act not only proves that classification with their jam-packed tour schedule but also on stage every night\, with youthful exuberance and a lively stage show\, as reliable as it is infectious. High energy percussion\, mandolin\, guitar\, bass\, banjo and fiddle weave seamlessly together to create an experience for fans that has sold out shows across the UK and the United States\, filling the front rows with fans not just singing along to one tune\, but singing along to all of them. “Everybody says it. We’d be nothing without our supporters. Yeah\, they buy tickets and of course we love that\, but when we’ve been on the road for 10 hours and walk onto a stage road weary and we see familiar faces singing along\, it’s hard to describe. It’s everything\, really. There’s a whole lot of love there.”\n \nMusic enthusiasts are not the only ones taking note. Critics and tastemakers alike have awarded the young artists an impressive number of accolades ranging from official showcases at AmericanaFest (2018) and International Bluegrass Music Association (2016) to Whitstable UK Session of the Year (2017)\, a BBC Scotland Session (2017) as well as Finalist\, International Song Writing Competition (2015 & 2016)\, Chicago’s Best Emerging Artist\, Deli Magazine (2014) and Songpickr’s Best Songs Spotify Playlist (2016) among others. The young men are no strangers to the festival circuit either\, having played major National and Regional Festivals such as Merlefest\, Summer Camp\, Red Wing Roots Music Festival and Saskatchewan Jazz Fest all across the United States\, Canada and the UK. The band has also graced the stage of coveted venues such as Bluegrass Underground (TN)\, The Fox Theater (CO)\, Park West (IL)\, The Vogue (IN) The Station Inn (TN) The Gramercy Theater (NYC)\, and countless others.\n

SUMMARY:IV and The Strange Band | Possessed By Paul James | Fire & Pine
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nUptown vfw \n\nDoors 7:30pm\nMusic 8:00pm\n21+\nGA: $15 ADV / $20 DOS\n\n*Does not include feesNO REFUNDS \n\n COVID-19 Policies\n \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n EVENT DESCRIPTION \n\n\nIV and The Strange Band | Possessed By Paul James | Fire & Pine\n\n \n\nAs the great-grandson of Hank Williams Sr.\, grandson of Hank Williams Jr.\, and only son of Hank 3\, Coleman Williams spent years waging an internal battle with the expectations thrust upon him by his own lineage. He represented the fourth generation of country music’s most legendary family — hence his nickname\, “IV” — and the pressure to launch his own career was enormous. Although Coleman would eventually make his mark with Southern Circus — the genre-bending debut from his band\, IV and The Strange Band\, combining southern storytelling and country textures with 100-watt guitar amps and DIY attitude — he needed to break free first and discover his own musical approach along the way. Southern Circus is his homecoming: an album that finds him not falling into a legacy\, but earning it. \nKonrad Wert is a man of many voices. As a special education teacher\, he is articulate and intentional. As an advocate for justice in education\, he is passionate. But as an artist and musician\, better known by his stage name Possessed By Paul James\, his voice is expressive\, holding rest and action in tandem. In truth\, “Paul James” is a fiction\, a combination of the names of Wert’s father and grandfather. Those who have seen him perform\, however\, would agree he seems possessed by something. Wert has still been able to release 5 full length albums\, two of which topped Bluegrass Billboard charts in 2013 & 2020. Possessed by Paul James’s upcoming 6th album\, titled Fighting For Our Own Survival\, set to release “sooner than later”. \nPine & Fire is a D.I.Y. folk music duo from the north woods of Minnesota. They blend traditional roots music influences with a modern punk sentiment\, creating a unique and driving sound. Together they sing original songs woven with themes of love\, escapism\, home\, and growth.
