Their origins trace back to jazz classes at the University of Minnesota. They recorded their first EP Morsels in 2017 and have continually been performing\, recording\, and rehearsing since\, which has allowed for their sound to mature and evolve.  \n \n\n \n\nMcNasty Brass Band is a collection of Minneapolis/Saint Paul based horn players and percussionists that fuse the Minneapolis sound with the spirit of New Orleans. The outcome of this fusion is hard-hitting dance music and high-energy live shows. Each player works tirelessly outside McNasty Brass Band as a side-man\, some with national and international touring acts. \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nPorky’s Groove Machine has been getting both funky and silly since the fall of 2011. While their costumes and sense of humor show their willingness to not take themselves too seriously\, their dedication to high-energy and high-entertainment performances is anything but laughable. With classic covers\, quirky originals\, and synchronized dance moves (for band and audience alike)\, their live shows are a delight for crowds of all ages. \n \n\n—–The Award-Winning* Under the Canopy series at The Hook & Ladder Theater returns with its uniquely seasonal urban footprint to the Longfellow neighborhood of South Minneapolis in 2023. *Voted Best in MN 2021 by StarTribune readers.—–The Hook has committed to having a food truck Under the Canopy throughout the 2023 season for our guests.Come hungry and enjoy dinner with the show!\n

SUMMARY:Possessed by Paul James with Placaters
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nJames Ballentine “Uptown” VFW Post 246 \n\nDoors 6:30pm\nMusic 7:00pm\n21+\nGA: $13 Early Bird / $15 Advance  / $20 Day of Show\n\n*Does not include feesNO REFUNDS \n\n COVID-19 Policies\n \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n EVENT DESCRIPTION \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nPossessed By Paul James \nwith Placaters\n\n \n\n\nKonrad Wert is a man of many voices. As a special education teacher\, he is articulate and intentional. As an advocate for justice in education\, he is passionate. But as an artist and musician\, better known by his stage name Possessed By Paul James\, his voice is expressive\, holding rest and action in tandem. In truth\, “Paul James” is a fiction\, a combination of the names of Wert’s father and grandfather. Those who have seen him perform\, however\, would agree he seems possessed by something.\n \n\nAfter 20 plus years working within the realms of special education & advocacy work\, Konrad Wert continues the balance with yet another upcoming album while in the classroom. Continuing to raise a family in Texas & working a 50 hr work week within public education\, Wert has still been able to release 5 full length albums\, two of which topped Bluegrass Billboard charts in 2013 & 2020. Possessed by Paul James’s upcoming 6th album\, titled Fighting For Our Own Survival\, set to release “sooner than later”. \nPlacaters are a twin-cities based 4-piece with a sound richly steeped in Americana\, roots\, soul and blues which produces a frenzied form of lounge music covering the gap between legends like Sinatra and Waits into new territory like Rateliff and Cauthen. For fans of Garage/Blues/Spaghetti/lounge/Americana
