Each member comes from a deep experience performing solo and/or with bands\, and they each bring their multiple talents to the songwriting table. They pull their love for 90s rock\, emo\, and folk-rock to make a unique\, moody sound. Influences come from the likes of Wolf Alice\, Smashing Pumpkins\, and Fleetwood Mac.  \n \nBad Posture Club is a Minneapolis-based folk duo made up of Maren Day and Morgan Kavanagh. Their songwriting explores themes of home-places\, memory\, and family\, finding inspiration in the strange relationship between human softness and the unyielding societal structures we both participate in\, and push against. Their songs are purposefully open and sparse\, crafting intricate and experimental harmonies through voice\, banjo\, guitar\, and sometimes a 100-year-old pump organ. \n\nMinneapolis’ Rabeca never stays in one place for too long—each song meanders from meditative solos to upbeat drum shuffles and rich chordal harmonies. The quintet first joined forces for a living room cabaret performance in 2019 and have since melded their unique musical tastes into a hearty musical stew. Drawing on their individual backgrounds in jazz big band\, madrigal singing\, and jam bands\, Rabeca fuses improvised solos with catchy hooks. Their debut album Potluck (2020) captures the band’s playful energy and love for a good meal. Rabeca is Alex (keys)\, Anna (saxophone)\, Colleen (guitar)\, David (bass)\, and Satchel (drums).
