The Shackletons
With special guests Diet Lite and Oceanographer
Join us as The Shackletons and their friends Diet Lite and Oceanographer team up for a rockin’ night at The Hook.
The Shackletons are a rock band from Minneapolis, circa 2014, composed of brothers Colin Campbell (guitar/vocals), Cameron Campbell (bass/backing vocals), and Evan Campbell(drums/misc screaming). They have been described as “Conor Oberst with a John Belushi attitude, fronting The Hold Steady.”
The band puts on electrifying live performances pulling from their catalog of punk, indie, blues, and whatever they’re feeling like playing at the moment. The Shackletons draw from a plethora of influences including The Replacements, The Who, Against Me!, and Old 97s.
With multiple EPs and singles under their belt, The Shackletons released their first full length album in December of 2021, produced by John Fields. In the weeks following their self-titled release, it became the #1 self-released album added to independent radio stations, and the #12 most added overall
Showcasing an eclectic garage rock style combining elements of everything from post-punk to alt-country, Milwaukee’s rock ‘n’ roll mainstays Diet Lite specialize in blending catchy riffs, creative songwriting, and a brand of energy that could be canned and sold. It’s gritty, feel-good rock ‘n’ roll at its finest. The group takes pride in melodically forward verses, active bass lines, and familiar yet fresh material.
Oceanographer is a four piece “Midwest Dreamo Pop” band based in Minneapolis. The members come from across the Midwest to share shimmery, reverby songs about the queer experience in their small home towns. Val Lowry-Ortegasings lead vocal and writes the music, Jim Deyoung slides on lead guitar, Will Suit holds down on the bass, and Noah Hoffman rocks the drums. They are releasing a three song EP come this fall.
