Impaler is a Minnesota Shock Rock / Speed Metal band formed in the spring of 1983, the band is known for their over-the-top lyrics and horror-based theatrical live shows. They signed with Combat Records in 1984 and released Rise Of The Mutants (1985) and If We Had Brains We’d Be Dangerous (1986) prompting national attention and capturing headlines when the P.M.R.C and Washington Wives fronted by Tipper Gore used Impaler as an example of the wicked influence rock music had on our nations youth. The Mutants record cover was also used as a prop in the cult horror movie Trick or Treat (1986).
