EVENT DESCRIPTION

J Streitz and the Long Odds Album Release & 10 Year Anniversary Show

with The Union Suites & Eli Gardiner

A night of of the Midwests’s best Americana in our intimate Mission Room. After 10 years we celebrate a new album from Jason Streitz. If the weather is nice we can open up the garage door and hang inside and under the stars!

J Streitz and the Long Odds

While playing bass in several Minneapolis bands spanning over two decades, Jason Streitz quietly wrote country, bluegrass and folk songs in his spare time. These songs, along with a handful of new tunes would become the foundation for The Long Odds. Operating now as J Streitz and the Long Odds, the band has completed their second full length album. Light Again was recorded at Zoo School Studio in St Croix Falls, WI and is set for release in August of ‘24.

J Streitz and the Long Odds have shared the stage with a wide range of national and regional acts including Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, Nathan Kalish, Invisible Boy, Kind Country, Gabe Barnett and Them Rounders, Bruise Violet, Jay Lenz (Pert Near Sandstone) at prominent midwest venues such as The Parkway Theater, Turf Club, Icehouse, Lee’s Liquor Lounge, The Cabooze, Como Dockside Pavilion, The Aster Café and Brickyard Pottery.

““Traces of early Uncle Tupelo and Jayhawks trickle into this fiddle-spiked Twin Cities alt-twang quintet’s promising debut album “Level Ground”, recorded at Pachyderm Studio with a guest spot by Yonder Mountain’s Allie Kral”

— Chris Riemenschneider – STAR TRIBUNE

The Union Suites
The Union Suits are an original midwestern Americana band from Minneapolis, MN via rural Wisconsin. Stepping in to fill the shoes of regional country heroes Redwing Blackbird after their guitarist Buddy got rung up on a three-month bid in Ramsey County, Union Suits are a hot-shooting country-rockin’ outfit with songs that are pretty enough to make ya cry into your Lone Star.

Eli Gardiner
Eli Gardiner is a songwriter from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, currently located in Minneapolis Minnesota. He writes music that can be described as Americana, Heartland Rock, and Folk. Coming of the 2020 release of his album, The Fire and The Medicine, he formed his full band comprised of drummer Greg Schutte (Mickey Hart, Ryan Bingham) lap steel/electric guitarist Dan Schwartz, keyboardist Kevin Gamble and bassist Nick Salisbury (Ryan Bingham, Brian Fallon). Eli’s music is always changing, morphing to the mood and groove. It can be described as Americana or Rock, but the themes are deeply rooted in our lives in present day, what it means to be a human and to be sympathetic to other people. It’s about our connection, how we are all the same and crave that understanding that music can bring at its most transcendental times.
