EVENT DESCRIPTION

Ira Ford Comedy Presents: F.A.B. Comics Showcase

Comedian Ira Ford hosts F.A.B Comics (Funny A$$ Black Comics) in The Mission Room Friday, February 16. Four comics. One funny a$$ night. Bring a date, bring your crew, or come alone. Grab your tickets before they sell out!

Born in Chicago, IL, Willie “Big Will” Sawyer started his comedy career at the Artists’ Quarters in St. Paul, MN. quickly becoming guest host for open mic night. From there he started performing all over the Twin Cities, including headlining at Ric’s Comedy Cabaret in Arden Hills, MN. Headlining at Willy’s Bar and Grill in Coon Rapids, MN, performing in the Rondo Days celebration in St. Paul, MN, and a special performance for the Sterling Club, based in St. Paul, MN. He has performed for adults and children as when he hosted the televised National African American Parent Involvement Day at Jackson Elementary School. Now he travels the U.S., featuring and headlining in big cities and small towns. A family man and a storyteller, his comedy leans toward stories of his own family life. Able to tone it down for the early crowd and ramp it up for the late night crowd, he speaks to everyone. You are not likely to be offended, but he may make you blush with his edgy topics and crowd participation.

Ell-Emaj Hill, an up & coming Minneapolis based stand up. Who spent much of his first year in comedy spinning the blocks of the Seattle comedy scene. The observational storyteller went from open mics, to featuring to headlining, while also winning the Sessions In Place Stand Up competition. Now he has returned home to join in the battle against landlocked nepotism. Will he prevail? Or nah.

Ben Hur
Probably the most controversial comedian in Minnesota, Ben has been doing comedy since 2012 and he f*cking hates it here- and cant wait to move away. You might get offended if you don’t have a good sense of humor.”

Mahdi Gotti is an up and coming stand-up comedian with a story telling style of comedy from North Minneapolis . He is a regular at MNCS that takes place at the Spring Street Tavern. When Mahdi is not on stage, you can find him applying for jobs he’s 100% not qualified for. Look them up!
