The Hook & Ladder Theater is proud to partner with The Fat Narrative Project to present this unique storytelling event centering fat voices and the fat experience. 100% of proceeds to benefit the non-profit Dark Muse Performing Arts.

 

With the theme “Joy in a Fat Body”, you will hear stories told by fat people about how they have experienced joy while being fat. In a world where fat people are constantly told to be smaller, both physically and emotionally, The Fat Narrative Project is here to push against that. This event is for fat people to take up all of the space, to be put on a platform, and to be celebrated. While this event is centered around fat people, especially the largest of the fat community, The Fat Narrative Project strongly encourages fat allies of all sizes to come and show support. *This is a space to celebrate fatness and not condemn, or medicalize, fatness or fat people.
