Emmy Woods and The Penny Peaches Double Release Show

with guests Yonder

Join us for a robust evening of Folk and Americana music packed with a double release concert with Emmy Woods (EP) and The Penny Peaches (Album) with guest Yonder.

Emmy Woods (she/they) was born and raised in rural North Dakota and currently resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota. With hints of country, folk, and blues, Emmy’s songs showcase her knack for storytelling, her strengths in musical artistry, and an impressive vocal range and ability. When asked to summarize her music in three words, Dr. Kyle Smith replied, “Queer Farm Vibes.”

While Emmy has been writing songs for over 20 years, her first collection of songs, tristia bella, as well as her albums The Manifold and Delirium were not released until 2020. Since then, she’s formed a band, Emmy Woods & The Red Pine Ramblers, and  continues to gain momentum with her genre bending sound.
The Penny Peaches are a family band with an alt-Americana sound. Sister songwriters Hattie and Grace Peach lead the group and feature lyrical storytelling, blood harmonies, and soaring melodies. Hattie brings lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and occasional fiddle. Grace adds sweet harmonies and melodic bass lines. Lead guitarist Eli Erickson pulls double duty with bass and fuzzy electric guitar riffs while Dad and drummer John keeps tempo on the kit.
Though none of the members can see without visual support, Yonder is seeing themselves as an emerging new-wave Americana band based in Minneapolis, MN. Each member stems from a background in various local groups with intertwining histories: front women Hattie Peach (violinist, vocalist) and Emma Jeanne (rhythm guitar, vocalist) began experimenting as co-writers years ago as college roommates in Duluth, MN. Peach brings the folk flair to the band with a knack for lyrical storytelling that comes from a lifelong dedication to blood harmonies with her family group, The Penny Peaches. Emma Jeanne adds distorted punk rock guitar and searing lyrics fused with her witty songwriting. Sidestepping from his typical role as frontman and bassist of Lapdogs, Oliver Gerber returns to his true love, lead guitar. Hailing from Rochester, Dylan Hilliker holds down the ones and twos on drums in Greentop, Horse Tornado, and now Yonder. The latest addition, Calvin Carrison, of the infamous jester-core group Big Delicious brings the bass. It feels as though they’ve stumbled upon something, even if it was for lack of eyesight. Not all who yonder are lost.
