Annie Humphrey

w/ Jeremy Ylvisaker, Laura Hugo, & Aida Shahghasemi

Annie Humphrey lived most of her life on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.  At age 23 she found her way off the Rez by enlisting in the United States Marine Corp.  She enlisted for many reasons…she is pro-homeland not pro-government.
Annie teaches her grandsons how to live with the Earth as her parents taught her.  She is the family sugarbush camp boss (a position appointed to her by her father) She nets walleye and cleans her own catch alongside her daughters.  She is a medicine gatherer and a wild rice harvester. Annie’s goal is to teach her grandsons to live without Walmart and Amazon.
