Join us as the Pistol Whippin’ Party Penguins return to the Hook & Ladder for their 18th annual Yuletide Sweater Ball! Special guests Stringdingers, The Foxgloves, and The Horny Boiz will be joining in on the festivities. These four talented and highly-acclaimed groups will keep the holiday party jumping throughout the evening.
Straight from the great Mill City comes the Pistol Whippin Party Penguins. Don’t let the name fool you! This is not a violent group of flightless aquatic birds looking for a party, but rather 6 self-proclaimed gentlemen, 2 guitars, a mandolin, a bucket of fiddles, bass, wheatstick drums, and a 4 part vocal harmony that will make a grown man cry. This group from Minneapolis strives to maintain the original spirit of traditional American music while continuing to play new original music and creative cover songs. The combination of folk, rock, blues, bluegrass, and the occasional stage banter will create an experience that anyone can enjoy!
Stringdingers are a Minneapolis-based bluegrass/country/jam band bonded by the bite of Minnesota winter, set free with the sounds of fast pickin, and swimming in lyrics that can bring a tear to your eye and make your heart sing. Stringdingers are a genre bending group that will ignite a fuse in your soul, get your boots stomping, and undoubtedly turn you loose!
The Foxgloves are an Americana/newgrass band from Minneapolis. Their high energy performances, heartfelt storytelling, four-part harmonies, and musical depth have swept them onto big stages throughout the region, including Blue Ox Music Festival and Big Top Chautauqua. This powerful band is making moves you’ll want to witness.
