Seattle transplant Riley Skinner throws a special party celebrating her birthday and the release of her new electro-folk album Surrender with a full-band show. Also joining the festivities will be alt-country favorite Hemma and eclectic jazz/pop artist Rabeca for a magical night of music and special guests!

 

Riley Skinner is an electro-folk musician and singer-songwriter newly based in Minneapolis. Her intriguing melodies, textured layers of sound, and intimate lyrics blend a nostalgic 90s angst with modern folk sensibilities. Skinner’s music asks the listener to join her in being vulnerable, being gentle, being honest, and being brave.

Minneapolis’ Rabeca never stays in one place for too long—each song meanders from meditative solos to upbeat drum shuffles and rich chordal harmonies. Drawing on their individual backgrounds in jazz big band, madrigal singing, and jam bands, Rabeca fuses improvisation with catchy hooks to capture playful and joyous energy.

Hemma is the songwriting moniker for multi-instrumentalist and balladeer Hannah Hebl. The latest batch of songs in this alt-country artist’s decade of writing have drawn influence from her time singing with powerhouses Wendy Lewis, Rachel Ries, and many other fine songwriters in the vibrant scene that spans between her old home of Eau Claire and her new home, the Twin Cities.
